Sheridan's Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing (formerly known as the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies) exemplifies Sheridan’s leading role as a hub connecting industry, curriculum and applied research. The Centre links companies of all sizes to Sheridan’s advanced manufacturing expertise and equipment, and allows them to explore these tools with the help of Sheridan faculty and students.
The Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing allows Sheridan College and its collaborators to address the challenges of the manufacturing industry while developing graduates with the skills and practical knowledge to make an immediate and positive impact on the workforce.

Take Our Kids to Work Day
Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing had the pleasure of participating in Sheridan’s 'Take Our Kids to Work Day' transforming the workplace into an engaging and enlightening experience for young minds. The highlight of the day was an exclusive tour of the cutting-edge manufacturing lab, where curiosity soared as they explored the wonder of technology and creativity. The students were fascinated by the mesmerizing capabilities of the ABB robot programmed to perform as a barista. The event not only fostered an environment of learning and exploration, but also sowed the seeds of inspiration for the next generation of innovators.

IDEA Step-Up
The Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing (formerly known as the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies) is excited to partner with IDEA Mississauga for the Step-Up Program supporting innovation and growth of scaling companies in Mississauga. We are engaging with the 2023 Second cohort of innovative local businesses in the program, collaborating on applied research projects helping to solve their technical challenges and overcome barriers to growth.

SONAMI Meeting with Minister Filomena Tassi
The Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing (formerly known as the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies) was proud to participate in a visit by Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario and Minister Filomena Tassi to the SONAMI group of Colleges and Universities at the McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI). The SONAMI group showcased our industry partners, students, and recent graduates who have spearheaded innovation in the manufacturing industry through collaborative applied research projects and thanked FedDev Ontario for their support. Women in Industrial Design Club visit Sheridan’s Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing (formerly known as the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies)
Sheridan’s Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing was delighted to host the Women in Industrial Design Club from the Sheridan Trafalgar Campus for a tour of our prototyping and automation labs. We engaged in lively discussion throughout the visit, in areas of 3D printing equipment, electronics fabrication and IOT, and research using robots. Several of our areas of interest overlap and intersect and we look forward to future interactions with Industrial Design. The Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing is always happy to welcome interested student groups to our research labs.

ICAIR – International Conference on Aging, Innovation, and Rehabilitation
The Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing (formerly known as the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies) Team proudly showcased collaborative projects with MedTech industry partners at the first International Conference on Aging, Innovation and Rehabilitation (ICAIR) organized by our partners KITE Research Institute UHN. We exhibited together with the Centre for Applied AI (formerly known as the Centre for Mobile Innovation) and the Centre for Elder Research (CER) as part of Generator at Sheridan.
